Make Your Own Swatch Place Card

A pastel coloured tablescape features star-shaped gingerbread, Christmas tree candles and pink glassware. Someone is holding a Blush Mustard Made swatch which has been crafted into a place card with the name Kate written on it.

Hosting duties coming up? We have the perfect DIY for you!

If you've ever ordered some Mustard Made swatches ahead of finding your forever locker, you might be wondering what to do with these colourful little samples.

With a bit of crafting panache, our swatches make the perfect place cards. Minimal effort for maximum impact, they're the cherry on top of a lovely tablescape, and make a super special keepsake for your loved ones.

A paint pen
We used the brand Posca.

Some thin ribbon
We chose velvet! Ooh, luxe.

Scissors

Step-by-step:

Step One

Using a paint pen, write out the name of your special guest on each swatch. We're partial to a script style of lettering for the fancy-pants factor, but write it out however you like!

If the blank canvas feels intimidating, sketch out your designs on a piece of paper first. The Posca pen we used takes a few minutes to dry, so if you need to wipe it off and start again you absolutely can!

Let the ink dry and apply a second coat for punchier pigment.

Step Two

Cut equal lengths of ribbon, then thread them through the hole in the top of each swatch. Finish with a neat knot or a bow.

Step Three

Admire your handiwork!

Step Four

Set the table and finish it off with your custom, hand-made, colour swatch place cards. Time to dig in!
