Everything we ticked off our 2024 to-do list
Oh, what a year! At the end of 2023, Team Mustard got together and created a schedule full of top-secret Mustardy things that we had planned for 2024. It was a big, bold list.
Like all best intentions, in reality it didn't always go quite to plan. We had to push dates back, manage some surprises and do our best ballerina impressions with some quick pivoting. But we did it! We couldn't be more proud to look back at everything our little team has achieved together this year – along with the help of our amazing stockists, partners, and our absolutely incredible community of locker lovers.
Let's take a trip down memory lane.
We started the year with a bang, releasing our brand-new colour, our mellow yellow, Butter! Bringing a sunny pop of colour to our rainbow, we're still obsessed with this decadent, delicious partner to our spicy Mustard.
Our long and lean four door locker was next on the scene, and she transformed living rooms, hallways and mudrooms around the world. She's the new gold standard in storage – but she feels like she's been part of the Mustard family forever.
To celebrate Pride, we made a very limited-edition Rainbow Standard, donating 50% of proceeds to our charity partner Outright International. The total donation came in at $75,400 and it's one of our proudest moments ever.
We introduced our clever reversible floating shelves and they sold out in record time! Team Mustard had a ball watching the orders come in as we got to take a peek at the colour combos you chose, from pops of pinks to moody blues and pastel rainbow palettes.
The launches just didn't stop! Our new Glass Collection was a knockout as we finally revealed what we'd been working on for so long – our trio of beautiful new glass lockers. With fancy fluted glass panels, custom medallion handles and a gorgeous enamel keyring, our new era is officially here.
It was such a joy to meet so many of our wholesale and trade partners out and about at Life Instyle, Maison + Objet and Impulse Salon. Our team put so much time and love into bringing Mustard on the road and the pay-off is always worth every second. The energy in those rooms was just unstoppable!
This year our Australian team officially outgrew the office that once felt so enormous to our little team! We levelled up to a big new space, where we all fit into the meeting room – and equally importantly, the lunch room. Our UK team are gearing up for a move next year too, so we're becoming very good at packing.
Six new team members joined Mustard this year, and we've already got some new faces coming to the party in 2025 too! But before they start, we'd love to take a moment to welcome two very tiny, very cute new mini Mustards: Sophie's baby Harry and Alex's baby Cooper. Awww!
From big, pinch-me names like Simons, West Elm and Glassette, to incredible small (yet mighty) businesses like Preston Apothecary, Matsch mit Sahne and Lala Noon, we feel so lucky to have welcomed so many new stockists to the Mustard family this year. They are such an integral part of what we do and we love seeing our lockers out and about in the world.
Which brings us to our last – and most important – task: to thank you! As you can see, 2024 was our biggest year yet and we are so grateful to everyone who has helped us make the world a little more colourful in 2024. Whether you bought your first locker or your fifth, whether you replied to one of our emails or tagged us on Instagram or said hi at a trade show, it means so much to us to have such an amazing, active community of people who really 'get' what Mustard is all about.
2025, you've got big shoes to fill. Let's do this!
