10 things you didn't know about the original Mustard Lockers
If you've just stumbled across us, you may think you know lockers. These aren't the rusty metal kind you remember from back in school or the grey and boring ones you might find in the gym.
Nope, our lockers add a burst of colour and some serious organisation to your home or workspace! They're the pretty yet practical answer to all of your storage needs.
Intrigued? Read on! Here are ten things you might not know about our original lockers.
one
they're magnetic!
You can use magnets to stick postcards, photos and to-do lists anywhere on a Mustard locker! Our super cool Wordbits are the perfect alphabet magnets for leaving funny messages (and actually holding things!) We also did a blog post about some of our other favourite fun and functional magnets to spruce up your lockers.
two
they have hooks
Inside every Mustard door, you'll find a handy hook. The Shorty, Midi and Lowdown have one hook on each door, and the Skinny and the Twinny have two on each. They're perfect for hanging a little mirror, headphones, a photo frame or necklaces!
three
they come flat-packed
Yep, but don't panic! We promise our flat-packed pieces are easy as pie to put together (pinky swear.) You can watch our handy how-to videos, where we'll walk you through it step by step. We also include paper instructions for those who prefer something hard-copy, and if you need any help, we are only an email away: team@mustardmade.com
four
no toolkit required!
Put that toolbelt away! You won't need anything fancy to assemble your locker. The only tool you'll need is a simple screwdriver for the handles — that's it! Everything else slots, clicks and locks into place. Told you it was easy! Our how-to videos will walk you through the build so you'll be patting yourself on the back and admiring your new favourite locker in no time.
five
they actually lock!
It's not really a locker if it doesn't lock! All our lockers have lockable doors and a signature matching Mustard keyring. But if you don't want to lock your locker, that's ok too! The doors all have magnets, so they'll stay closed, with or without locking. It's a win-win situation.
six
there's a whole rainbow to choose from!
There are now twelve colours to pick from — although we didn't say it would be an easy decision! Our Mustard rainbow has something for everyone, whether you favour bold, bright colours, soft pastels or timeless neutrals.
Can't decide? Get your hands on colour swatches to help you pick the perfect locker for your space.
seven
they are super versatile
Mustard lockers are kinda magic. They can fit into those awkward corners and small spaces, providing maximum storage without taking up too much room! Whether you're using your locker as a TV stand, a kid's wardrobe, for office supplies or a kitchen pantry, you know your locker will keep everything safe inside. The adjustable shelves, colours, beautiful matte finish and wipe-down-ability (we made that word up!) make them so versatile no matter where you put them. Form and function for everyone!
eight
you can hang stuff in them!
The Skinny and the Twinny are the perfect depth for hanging clothes. (Did we mention that we sell fancy hangers to match your locker?) One of the nice things about using lockers as wardrobes is that you can adjust the shelves as you like. As your kids grow and their clothes get longer, just move the shelves down. Want more space for folded items? Just add another shelf!
nine
you can customise them
Change up your locker to meet your storage needs. Don't need shelves? No problem, take them out! Need more shelves? We can do that too! You can buy extra shelves here. The Skinny and the Twinny also come with removable hanging rails (the Skinny has one, the Twinny has two), which you can pop in or out as your heart desires.
ten
they are addictive!
This was something even we didn't know when we started Mustard. Once you have one locker, we know you'll want more! You'll find yourself looking at every corner of your home and trying to work out where you can fit another locker or two...or three. Don't say we didn't warn you!
